Samael is a dedicated and industrious stag, always willing to do what he can when asked. He isn't particularly decisive, and prefers being given orders and missions which he can fulfill and get on with. The warrior lifestyle suits him very well, as he is adventurous and loves to get his hooves dirty, and is very dependable once he's been given a task. When he has his mind set on something, he gets very daring and a little cavalier; opinions are divided on whether this makes him a model soldier or a complete tool. Either way, he would love to finally reach a point where he can be a full-blown raider. He's very much of the gentle giant type, being comparatively soft but quiet to his fellow friendly Blackwoods, and a bellowing impassable wall to hostiles or unknowns. As well as being unusually friendly, he's particularly polite for a Blackwood warrior, and his manners often sound a little weird coming from such a hulk. When it comes to his work he is hard-line and prepared to do (nearly) anything. If you were to put him in a box he would very much suit the idea of a medieval chivalrous knight, with codes of honour, the gentlemanly base and such - if he is impolite to you then you must have done something awful. Samael is very devout to mother Úir, he is very level-headed due to his faith in her guidance. As such he is always very sure to be respectful to all does, and comes across as a bit awkward as a result. Likewise, he has all of his loyalty and trust with Blackwood and its leaders. He isn't particularly pleased with his Silverthorne blood but he prefers to just get on with it rather than bother himself with it. While he strongly disagrees with a lot of points of view held by the other fawnling herds, he is not openly aggressive towards trespassers, rather more protective of the Blackwood herd, and is unlikely to kill unless provoked. When it comes to his personal life, he is very stoic and quiet on his own feelings but cares deeply for important fawnlings in his life, making sure they are safe and well, and if you manage to know him well enough he is very tender and soft. It is likely that if he ever does find a doe, he would be very romantically attached to her as well as his normal "duties"; he won't admit it but he is in fact a hopeless romantic type. It's very difficult to get him to open up this much though, it's likely he'll only be this comfortable often if he manages to attract a doe. This is something of a sore spot for him as he feels like he might not be good enough, being a little more on the pale side and a crossbreed, despite his huge size. He does have a lot going for him but he does think very poorly of himself by default.
Appearance
He is a giant of a fawnling being on the heavier side in build and so tall, his rack just magnifies this and is very intimidating to come across. He does hold back and let others graze so he is notably a bit skinny but still big boned. His face is a clean wedge shape, with something of a draft horse or pitbull about him - maybe in his broad nose and upper lip. His course stag fur grows into a long line from chin to rear, and he manages his beard and his thick mane in the same way - cut fairly short for practicality with longer braids throughout. He has managed to come away from his past exploits relatively un-scarred, and keeps trinkets from every successful encounter with both predators and other herds. He tends to hoard them under the roots of a tree in his den rather than be wearing them at all times, but will occasionally gather them up to wear into an important battle, including the battered wolf pelt from his CoA. His colour is also notable for a herd comprised mostly of more somber colours, and as such a fair few have made the guess at his impure blood.

His father was a respectable pure Blackwood stag, and his mother is (was?) a half Silverthorne half Blackwood raider of prowess enough to (almost) discount her impure blood. Samael has inherited their strong builds and his mother's tenacity, but his father's slightly softer side seems to have been carried on through him - he wasn't at all phased by his crossbreed mate nor others in the herd. His mother's strong and powerful influence has inspired him all his life. After his CoA ritual he quickly latched onto the closest group of warriors, who were being mentored by Delaney, with whom he developed a bond somewhat like a second father figure since his own sire had passed on a few years earlier. He even earned the joking nickname "red wolf" after managing to outrun the head of a pack near Redwater. As such he quickly started brooding over Delaney's colt Reilley as well. When Delaney was killed in a wolf ambush he was deeply affected, and hasn't quite found his way back to another leader figure between worrying about looking after himself and Reilley too. He cannot wait to re-find himself as he has never been turned away by the consequences of the raider's lifestyle and is still determined to make it.

guestimations on how he might interact with ...
    blackwood stags; He is full of brotherly comradery for his fellow Blackwood stags, respect abounds, and something would have to go drastically wrong for him to turn on one of his own; in particular speaking ill of or mistreating does, but this could also include being vicious towards his good friends, and older charge Reilley. He has nothing against palefaces being of a somewhat unconventional colour himself, but would be unimpressed by a paleface doing something to endanger others.
    blackwood does; In his opinion, the Mother's does are to be treated with the utmost respect, practically revered; he would be happy to serve their purpose, and if he were claimed for a harem he would be very moved and honoured by it. He truly takes on the role of the gallant gentleman knight with them. Unless it would be to save a life - his own or another he considers in need of protection - he would n e v e r be physically violent to them and would go out of his way to prevent harm to them if at all possible.
    blackwood fawns; These fawns are the future of the herd and must be protected at all costs, nearly in defiant opposition to what he has been told about how Silverthornes discard youngsters for no good reason, although he is a little awkward around them.
    outsider stags; Samael has grown up with horrible tales of how other herds' stags are, particularly tales of Silverthorne from his Silverthorne traitor granddam, and horrible tales of disgusting Glenmore guards from his raider mother. As such, he will always be at least a touch skeptical of them and their motives. His brand of just strong-arming would be ready and waiting for the first stag to overstep the mark, and as part of his duties he has no qualms about killing one who deserves it.
    outsider does; His feeling about how does should always be treated properly and treated with utmost respect extend to does from other herds as well, and he would not touch a hair in their manes unless absolutely and unavoidably necessary.
    outsider fawns; While they aren't a part of his herd and don't have his full protection, he would be very upset if even his passive actions were to cause harm to a youngster.
